On September 29th, 2023, Pebsteel collaborated with VinaCapital Foundation (VCF) to organize the Mid-Autumn festival celebration for disadvantaged children affected by COVID-19 at Binh Tan District Children’s House, with the goal of creating a full moon night with vibrant, joy, and meaning for more than 500 Covid orphans, primarily from impoverished areas such as District 8, Binh Tan, Binh Chanh, and Nha Be provinces.
Pebsteel collaborated with VinaCapital Foundation (VCF) to organize the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration for disadvantaged children
This meaningful activity is implemented under the “Care to Rise – Yêu thương Nâng bước” program – a joint initiative of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Youth Union and VCF to support and provide psychological treatment, free education assistance, and health care for Covid-19 orphans and other disadvantaged children affected by the pandemic in HCMC. Binh Tan district was one of the 2 worst-affected districts in Vietnam by the pandemic.
Mr. Thulasiraj Logaraju, General Manager – Operation, PEB Steel Buildings Co., Ltd. (Pebsteel) shared:
“The Covid-19 pandemic has been over for more than 2 years, but the pain remains. Such activities supporting orphans and disadvantaged children who are affected by Covid-19 are very meaningful.
Last year, Pebsteel joined hands and supported the Vina Capital Foundation (VCF) for this Mid-Autumn festival, and we continue to do so this year. We hope the activity brings unforgettable memories for the children, psychologically supports them to overcome hardship and anxiety, and encourages them to overcome difficulties to continue their studies and become good students and good citizens.
We much appreciate VinaCapital Foundation taking this kind of initiative. Throughout 30 years of operation, we always believe that “there is nothing more meaningful than paying back to the society” and Pebsteel is sure to continue supporting VCF in their future efforts.”
The program brought kids many exciting and meaningful activities, including folk games, drawing lanterns, etc. The children also had the opportunity to learn about traditional folk tales like the Moon Goddess and Chú Cuội (Uncle Cuoi), as well as experience festival practices and rituals including lion dance, dragon dance, lantern parade, food display, and breaking the feast to enjoy the tastes of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
