Full Moon Festival for Kids Impacted by Covid-19

Company News - 21/09/2022

On September 10th, 2022, Pebsteel collaborated with VinaCapital Foundation (VCF) to organize the Full Moon Festival celebration for disadvantaged children affected by Covid-19 at Binh Tan District Children’s House, to create a full moon night with vibrant, joy, and meaning for children, especially children with difficult circumstances, children affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.

Pebsteel collaborated with VinaCapital Foundation (VCF) to organize the Mid-Autumn festival celebration for disadvantaged children.

This meaningful activity is implemented under the “Care to Rise – Yêu thương Nâng bước” program – a joint initiative of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Youth Union and VCF to support and provide psychological treatment, free education assistance, and health care for Covid-19 orphans and other disadvantaged children affected by the pandemic in HCMC. Binh Tan district was one of the 2 worst affected districts in Vietnam by the pandemic.

“This Covid makes a lot of headaches all over the world, but Vietnam really handles the Covid is better than other countries. Many people lost their jobs and many people lost their families. So we are in Vietnam for 28 years so we just want to contribute and help some of the difficulties of the people who lost their families. This is mainly from Pebsteel that we want to say.

We work together with VCF for many years and when they approach us for some contribution for this Covid and immediately we are willing to support them because this is some kind of sharing from Pebsteel to the community. So we much appreciate VinaCapital Foundation taking this kind of initiative.”

Mr. Thulasiraj Logaraju, General Manager – Operation, PEB Steel Buildings Co., Ltd. (Pebsteel).

The program brought kids many exciting and meaningful activities, including folk games, fun math and science playgrounds, free haircuts, etc. The children also had the opportunity to learn about the traditional folk tales like the Moon Goddess and Chú Cuội (Uncle Cuoi), as well as experience festival practices and rituals including lion dance, dragon dance, lantern parade, food display, and breaking the feast to enjoy the tastes of the Full Moon Festival.
