On November 29, 2022, PEB Steel Buildings Co., Ltd (Pebsteel) welcomed a group of students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, HCMC University of Technology (HCMUT) to visit our factories at Vung Tau.
Pebsteel’s representative, Mr. Nabil Khalaf, General Manager – Vung Tau Factory made a warm welcome speech. He introduced the overview of Pebsteel, our scale of production, and the whole closed production process to students. Mr. Nabil emphasized that Pebsteel always strictly adheres to Quality Control to ensure the finished product is of the highest quality before being shipped to the construction site for installation. Additionally, we always aim for sustainable development, we use strictly tested environmentally friendly materials, and apply the latest system of design standards to minimize the waste of resources.
After the general introduction section, students from HCMUT started the factory tour with valuable guidelines from the Customer Service Department – Pebsteel Vung Tau Factory. The students were very excited when they saw firsthand the production line, and the complete fabrication process of structural steel on an automatic system according to international standards, and at the same time observed the 5S principle being practically applied in the workplace.
Pebsteel’s engineers presented to students the fabrication process, explaining in detail how the building materials are fabricated, tested, and perfected across multiple factories prior to shipping.
With the first visited factory, students were introduced to the production processes of mainframes for pre-engineered building structures and heavy structures, including hot-rolled members for power plants, oil & gas facilities, multi-storey/high-rise buildings, and other special steel structures.
HCMUT students also made a tour of different processing factories such as a painting workshop and cold-formed steel processing plants. They had a chance to spot the operating mechanism of fully automated submerged arc welding lines and modern imported machines.
After the factory tour, the student continued to visit an ongoing project to observe the actual process of lifting and installing a pre-engineered building.
This periodic activity is part of a series of activities accompanying students from the civil engineering department at universities across the country of Pebsteel, towards the goal of developing an ecosystem between the University – Students – Enterprises. We want the most favorable conditions for students to study, create and contribute to the community as well as prepare themselves with the necessary baggage as well as orientations for future careers.
